Wolves are one of the most misunderstood animals in America. Captive-bred wolves and wolfdogs are even more so. They are generally considered unadoptable by domestic animal services. They have nowhere else to go. Shy Wolf Sanctuary is, often literally, their last hope.
In December 2025, America The Beautiful® shoppers helped fund a starter gift to support that work.
A Sanctuary for the Unadoptable
Shy Wolf Sanctuary rescues captive-bred exotic and unreleasable wolves and wolfdogs, then provides them a permanent home for life. The animals they take in have been abandoned, surrendered, neglected, or abused. They arrive carrying stories of survival, but at Shy Wolf, those stories shift toward something different. Toward thriving. Toward learning to trust again. Toward the healing power of unconditional love.
Shy Wolf shares those stories with the public through community presentations, on-site visits, and educational outreach. They work year-round to teach Americans the importance of protecting these animals and learning to coexist peacefully with wildlife.
40 Animals, 80 Volunteers, 2.5 Acres
Shy Wolf provides a permanent home to over 40 exotic residents, sometimes as many as 50 at once. The wolves and other resident animals live on a 2.5-acre property in Naples, Florida, supported by more than 80 active volunteers. There's no big institutional budget here. Just Americans showing up, day after day, to take care of animals that nobody else would.
A Starter Gift
Thanks to all the beautiful Americans who buy America The Beautiful® products to show off their pride and love of their country, the ATB Crew was able to give the 501(c)(3) Shy Wolf Sanctuary an initial $500 in December 2025 to support their work. We see this as a beginning, not a finish line.
