We at the America The Beautiful® Brand got the highest resolution image of the Constitution available from the Library of Congress and isolated We out of the animal skin background for this design, and combined it with the most meaningful phrase, America Is Beautiful. Jacob Shallus, son of German immigrants, was Assistant Clerk to the Pennsylvania General Assembly, and was hired to pen the original United States Constitution. He did so with a goose quill pen using ink made of iron filings in oak gall that was black when applied but has now become brownish.
This design was conceived by Martin, one of our owners because his mom drove him and his brother Stan up to D.C. from Florida in the 60’s (before there we Interstates now less), showed them the United States Constitution in its display case (from which it descends into a bomb proof bunker each night), and told them that was who they were and what they were about. What is America? It is us, our national family. Our collective beliefs and determination. We!
